Live oak Trees

One of our favorite plants here are Sunshine Garden Nursery is the Live Oak Tree. The name live oak comes from the fact that evergreen oaks remain green and "live" throughout winter when other oaks are dormant and leafless.

  • Native to the RGV

  • Low Maintenance

  • Does Not need a lot of water

  • Provides a lot of shade

What to Expect from a Live Oak Tree

A large, stately tree, commonly 50 feet tall with a short, stout trunk of 4 feet or more in diameter, dividing into several large, twisting limbs that form a low, dense crown that can spread more than 100 feet, the limbs often touching the ground in open-grown settings.
